Mads started playing the violin at age six, and now over thirty years later, he is teaching the next generation of string players how to improvise. Mads is a Yamaha Artist, and he has done numerous presentations, workshops and masterclasses in the US, Canada, Japan and Dubai.
Mads has presented and taught at CMEA, ASTA, JEN, Stanford Jazz Workshop and at the Advanced Suzuki Institute at Stanford.

With his arranging and composition chops, Mads has participated in many collaborations with Universities and high schools across the U.S. He has worked with the orchestra and big band at the University of Puget Sound in Seattle and the University of the Pacific in Stockton. The Ultimate Violin Course

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, Mads has worked tirelessly on creating the next generation of online teaching for the violin – The Ultimate Violin Course. The 100% online course will get violin instruction out to students in a safe and fun way. Mads uses multiple camera angles and gives detailed instructions to guide students from being total beginners to advanced level. Every aspect of playing the violin is covered – including technique, learning how to read music and developing a good ear. In contrast to more traditional methods, UVC dives deep into genres like pop, rock, jazz and folk music. The goal is for anybody to be able to play and arrange their favorite songs from YouTube or Spotify – regardless of the genre.
