In May, 2020 my website told me that it had enough. After 10 fruit-full years of hundreds of concerts, tweaks, edits and mouse clicks, my old site was fatigued and could go no longer. Mads Tolling has received a grant from South Arts to complete his October tour with Jacob Fischer on the East Coast, Midwest and the South. South Arts support jazz tours by matching presenter costs. Mads is one of the first recipients of this grant for 2019.
Mads performed with bassist Stanley Clarke at the Gardena Jazz Festival in SoCal on August 25th, 2019. It was a great show that also had fellow violinist Karen Briggs sit in. The 8000 strong crowd were treated to some of Stanley Clarke’s hit with George Duke and Janet Jackson’s “Funny How Time Flies.”
Mads first played with Stanley Clarke back in 2003 after recommendation from Jean-Luc Ponty.
